So Long, 2025

We’ve said so long to 2025, and the arrival of the New Year invites us to reflect on the past 12 months. We would like to extend our gratitude to you, our clients, for giving us the opportunity to do the work we love in the community we love. We are grateful to serve our neighbors, our public lands, and work to restore the environment in which we live and play.

The “YFR” in our namesake stands for Yuba Forest Restoration, and this past year we’ve had the pleasure of working on several projects that have let us do just that. Our team hustled on hazard tree removals in previously wildfire-burned areas. In the High Sierra, we had the pleasure of removing conifers encroaching on meadows, which provide critical habitat and water supply. We were privileged to be involved in an ecosystem regeneration project designed to increase habitat for salmon fry in our watershed. More recently, we’ve been hammering away on fuel reduction projects on both private and public lands aimed at increasing wildfire resilience along key evacuation corridors in Nevada City and Grass Valley.

As daylight stretches and the camelia blooms unfurl, we are manifesting another year filled with growth, collaboration, and community. If 2026 is the year you’ve resolved to open the understory on your property, address that tree that’s been keeping you up at night, or get around to pruning your fruit orchard, we’re here to help.
